The different types of treatments:-
Osteopathy
What is it?
Osteopathy is well-established system of diagnosis and effective manual treatment.
Osteopaths use a highly developed sense of touch to assess the relationship between the structure and function of the body. This means if we have a good structural balance we are more likely to be healthy and free from pain. If we are out of balance through some sort of injury, illness, or stress we may feel pain of discomfort in our bodies.
What the treatment will be like?
The Osteopath will take your medical history and review your overall health. They will carry out a full examination so this may mean you will have to remove some outer clothing.
Osteopathy is known as a ‘hands on’ therapy. It focuses on you as an individual, which means your treatment is tailored for your needs. A variety of manual techniques work to release restricted joints, ease tight muscles and consequently restore normal function for nerves and blood flow. The manipulation can range from extremely gentle to more dynamic.
Your muscles may feel sore after your appointment but the treatment is not painful. You may receive instructions for specific exercises, as well as postural and lifestyle advice.

Mc Timoney Chiropractics
What is it?
Chiropractic is a way of adjusting the bones of the body to maintain the correct alignment of the spine and to ensure that the body’s nerve supply works efficiently. If part of the spine column becomes misaligned a nerve may become compressed or stretched which may lead to pain or restricted mobility.
Through subtle adjustments chiropractic treatment can relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility, and provide a route to better health. The main aim is to improve the alignment of the spine to free the nerves.
The gentle nature of the McTimoney Chiropractic technique makes it suitable for all.
What the treatment will be like?
The Chiropractor will take your full case history regarding general health as well as the details of the symptoms. Some simple tests may be done to help arrive at a chiropractic diagnosis. The chiropractor will examine your joints and makes appropriate adjustments when necessary. McTimoney Chiropractics use light, low force adjustments and check the whole body because the body will compensate for a symptom, causing other symptoms.
The chiropractor will also give advice you on good posture, the best way to lift, carry shopping, and sit at your desk or in the car.

Physiotherapy
What is it?
Physiotherapy provides both a manual and a rehabilitative approach to muscle and skeletal problems. This includes restoring normal movement after an injury and correcting the development of a dysfunctional movement. Physiotherapy aims at reducing the pain by reducing how severe it is or aiding in the management of long-term conditions.
What the treatment will be like?
The Physiotherapist will take your full medical history and undertake a full examination. Your treatment plan will then be discussed and agreed. Treatment includes mobilisation and manipulation, provision of therapeutic home exercises and acupuncture procedures where necessary. You may need to remove some clothing depending where treatment is needed. After the treatment you may experience some soreness for 24-72 hours.
