Wellbeing team
Wellbeing at Wellspring
The Wellbeing team organises a range of activities to help improve the wellbeing of local people. The team arranges a bike loan scheme, one-off art projects and support groups. The project works with the PCT and health charities to bring a range of services to the WHLC which promote wellbeing, including Branching Out, where one to one support is available (you can be referred by your GP for this service or can self refer by contacting Wellspring reception).
Mandy works with women experiencing depression and anxiety on a one to one basis and also facilitates the Time Out For Women peer support group.
The Time Out group meets every Thursday from 10-12. The group plan the activities they want, which ranges from art, cooking and complementary therapies as well as bingo. It is a very informal group with the main aim being to have fun and relax.
Men’s wellbeing
The WHLC works with men on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
Time Out for Men runs from 2.30 – 4.30 every Tuesday in the Wellspring Kitchen . Activities include healthy eating and lots of chats! We also provide information on general health and wellbeing.
David Martin works with men on a 1 to 1 basis around depression and anxiety and overall heath and wellbeing with the Branching Out project over a 12 week period – where we put together an action to help improve their lives . He works Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Support to Stop Smoking
The project also provides individual and group Support to Stop Smoking sessions.
